What to Expect When You’re Expecting by Heidi Murkoff
Considered a classic, what I really like about this book is it breaks down what you’ll be going through month to month, and even week by week. I also like that it covers what is happening to baby too!

The New Rules of Pregnancy by Adrienne Simone
Not for everyone but it was a quick and informative read. I got a lot of ideas about my birth plan and it gave me some good topics to bring up to my doctor if I felt I needed it.

Mindful Pregnancy by Tracy Donegan
Hypnobirthing is a trend happening with pregnancy where you lean in to the experience and mentally prepare yourself for the labor that is… well labor. This book might be considered a little “crunchy” but I like that it provided some good yoga positions, mantras to repeat while really going through it, and natural remedies if you’re into that kind of thing.
Books I haven’t got to…but plan to:

Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin
Full of positive birth stories and advice. Supposedly really reassuring for people scared of giving birth (me).

The Birth Partner by Penny Simkin
For my support person who will be with me in the room. I want my partner to be as informed as he can be and feel confident advocating for me and helping me when I need it most.

Newborn Handbook for New Dads by Roy Benaroch
I want my partner to feel just as capable of caring for the little one. This guide isn’t too bulky and seems straightforward.
