Some of my earliest memories are of my parents reading to me. Every day after lunch, my mom would read to us and every day before bed my dad would read out loud. My Dad laughs and says my mom never wanted jewelry, just another bookshelf! They instilled the love of reading into my brothers and I; we grew up at the library. Now, 24 years into my library career, I am not at all surprised that working with books is my passion. Books open doors, they build wings, they stoke curiosity and provide a look into people and places we would never be able to reach otherwise.
