The library retains microfilm of various Campbell County newspapers from 1892 to the present. The reference department staff has indexed these newspapers with a specific focus on genealogical information including announcements of births, marriages, divorces and obituaries. Also indexed are major News-Record articles from 1988-2001 which can be searched by the Reference staff upon request. The news indexing was stopped after the establishment of the Gillette News-Record web site in December 2001, which features its own searchable archive.
