I\u2019ve always been an ancient Egypt girlie, and someone who thinks about ancient history on a near constant basis. I often wonder what people were like back then and how they were able to create such huge monuments without what is now viewed as \u201cmodern technology\u201d. This book was so fun to read, as it answered a lot of those questions and so much more! The author carefully and diligently pieces together a portrait of the people and places at the time of building these Wonders and even after they have been demolished (with the exception of the Great Pyramid of Giza, the last ancient Wonder standing today). Although the book was very detailed I found it to be an engaging read and I am still thinking about some of the things I read (such as how smelly it would have been to visit the statue of Zeus back in the day and how much blood and animal sacrifices you\u2019d witness).
