To be totally transparent, I do not to CrossFit. I am not a very athletic person. I grew up watching sports more in the X-Game field. Since I have moved to Gillette and started lifting weights, I use that term loosely. I enjoy resistance training! I quickly became fascinated watching the women of CrossFit compete. They are impressive! I am tall so my favorite to watch was Annie Thorisdottir because she is among the taller athletes. Ever Since I saw her compete, I have been an avid watcher of the sport. Because of this I wanted this book! Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC. Reading about her history growing up and her journey through the sport of CrossFit is very impressive. I really appreciate that she has it all written down so we can see the mental game that elite athletes go through. These women are strong mentally and physically; they are much tougher than I am. Yet there is a mental struggle that comes along with injuries and other incidents that can make even the toughest unsure of themselves. I highly recommend picking this book up and watching the games. If you are a fan of incredible athleticism pick up any of these books, they won’t disappoint. The Heart is the Strongest Muscle by Tia Toomey, Resilient by Brooke Wells, Dottir by Katrin Davidsdottir are ones that I had to mention.
